The mountain villages (Beginners Tour)
A real joyride for everone! Before starting you will get a short introduction into the techniques of riding, gearshifting and braking on a mountain bike. The excursion proper begins at La Laguna Grande from where we follow a quiet byroad that offers stunning views across the island. We pass across Igualero, the highest mountain village on La
Gomera, and Chipude, its oldest community, and gradually reach El Cercado, the village that is famous for its traditional pottery. After a refreshing stop at a local bar we cycle on through Las Hayas and Arure until finally, in a laidback manner, we roll down the winding road through the upper districts of Valle Gran Rey and back to La Playa.
Distance: 45 km
Altitude covered: 350 m
Ability level: easy

Bike & Beach (Beginners Tour)
Starting at La Laguna Grande, we take the National Park routes to climb up all the way to Alto de Garajonay, the highest elevation on La Gomera. From there, we may enjoy views to the neighbouring islands before we begin our descent towards Playa de Santiago. Following the southern slopes we pass by a giant eucalyptus tree and catch a glimpse of pictures of Roque Agando, whilst riding on tracks scarred from decades of erosion. On the last section of our tour we experience the scenic downhill run through the village of Alajeró and into Playa Santiago, where we leisurely stop off at a snug beach cafeteria. Or have a refreshing swim in the sea. Or both. In any case, the shuttlebus brings us back to Valle Gran Rey.
Distance: 40 km
Altitude covered: 400 m
Ability level: intermediate -

Santa Clara - Panoramic Tour
We begin our excursion at Los Baranquillos, 1000 metres above sea level, at first following the main road across the Laurel Forest. Shortly after having passed Los Chorros de Epina - Gomera's renowned wishing well - we leave the asphalt road and continue on a dirt track that leads us through a weird and scenic landscape. It culminates in breathtaking views of Vallehermoso and - clouds permitting - also Mount Teide, Spain's highest mountain. At the little chapel of Santa Clara we turn
into a wonderful single-track trail, high above the western coastal cliffs. Soon
after the chapel of Coromoto we arrive at a point that truly deserves its name:
Buenavista - Good View! Our return trip leads along the east side of the
mountain, thus bringing us back to the Ermita de Santa Clara.
Distance: 44 km
Altitude covered: 750 m
Ability level: intermediate
Variant 2: The tour goes down to Alojera, with a stop for a swim in the
ocean (Extra: 10 €).

National Park Tour
The shuttlebus takes us to La Laguna Grande, situated at 1250 m, and from there we pedal up some 230 vertical metres to the Alto de Garajonay, highest point of the island. On the peak we can enjoy the view of the neighbouring islands, before a fabulous dirt track and subsequent singletrack trail bring us down to the main-road junction of Los Pajaritos. On a short distance along asphalt we can recover before entering our next section of dirt road through our primeval Laurel Forest. At the pottery village of El Cercado we stop off, to taste some of the delicious local food, and then proceed on a secondary road to Las Hayas, where again we enter into rougher terrain. After having
passed the vinyards of Arure and its big reservoir, we head towards the last, fast and rewarding downhill run along the winding asphalt road through the Valley of the Grand King!
Distance: 50 km
Altitude covered: 430 m
Ability level: intermediate

The green north
We start at La Laguna Grande where we begin with a downhill run to Juego de Bolas, along a secondary road with several smaller singletrack turnouts. During our stopover at Gomera's Visitors' Centre we can gain some insight into the island's culture, nature and people. We then proceed through the area of El Cedro - the Cedar Mountain - which constitutes the oldest part of the local Laurel Forest. In a little hamlet along our way we stop off at a local bar, to brace ourselves for the final climb - of some 200 vertical metres - and for our final descent that brings us back coasting to the shores of Valle Gran Rey.
Distance: 55 km
Altitude covered: 800 m
Ability level: intermediate +
